Music on your lap in Nijmegen
Music on Your Lap is intended for young children aged 9 months to 4 years and their parents or grandparents. It is a music class for toddlers and preschoolers! During the 35- to 40-minute class, you sing, move, play and listen together with your child. There is a fixed opening and closing that the children will happily recognise after just a few lessons. In between, there are various songs and games about all kinds of everyday things, dressing and tidying up songs, seasonal songs, comforting songs and movement games. You make music yourself with your voice, hands, feet and simple musical instruments such as drums, shakers, bell bands, rhythm sticks and various play materials such as scarves, rubber ducks, finger puppets and blocks. A Music on Your Lap course also provides inspiration for playing and singing with your child at home. You will receive the songs in A6 format with a booklet to put them in.
Young children are already very sensitive to music. Listening and singing also stimulate speech and language development. Music also encourages movement. In this way, Music on Your Lap lays the foundation for your child’s musical development in a relaxed and enjoyable way. In addition, all other areas of development are naturally addressed. Music and singing have a major influence on your child’s overall development.
By participating with your child, you as a parent (or grandparent/carer) learn in a playful way all kinds of things you can also do at home.
