Flute lessons in Doetinchem
Flutist Linda Speulman obtained her Master of Arts degree in 2015 from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied with William Bennett, Kate Hill, and Patricia Morris. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor’s degree with Gudrun Bourel at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle.
As an orchestral flutist, Linda substitutes for various orchestras such as Het Gelders Orkest, Het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Philharmonie ZuidNederland, and is part of the rebel collective Pynarello.
Last winter, she toured the Netherlands with the Habsburg Strauss Orchestra with the production Wien Bleibt Wien. During her studies, Linda played in the National Youth Orchestra (NJO) for two consecutive years and several times in the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to orchestral work, Linda forms a duo with pianist Ella Kamerich. Female composers play a major role in their beautiful and varied programme. (https://www.lindaspeulman.com/contact)
Linda was also one of the founding members of the flute ensemble 6Sense, of which she was a delighted member for two years. With 6Sense, she performed at the Flautissimo Festival in Rome (2015), La Côte Flute Festival in Switzerland (2016) and the Grachtenfestival (2016), among others.
Linda regularly switches between the flute and piccolo. In 2014, she won third prize in the Jonathan Myall Piccolo Competition in London.
For many years, Linda has had a great passion for teaching flute lessons. In 2015, she was selected as an assistant teacher for the William Bennett International Flute Summer School. Here she was able to teach highly talented international flutists. Last year she was an assistant teacher at the Tilburg Conservatory (Fontys University of Applied Sciences) where she taught both Bachelor’s and Master’s students. Since 2016, Linda has been working as a flute teacher at the Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder, where she enjoys passing on her passion to her students with great enthusiasm. She also has a teaching practice at home.
Linda teaches at her own teaching practice at home in Arnhem/Doetinchem.
[X]By mutual agreement. Often 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Depending on the wishes and level of the student.
[X]Anyone who would like to learn to play the flute is welcome! I teach all ages and levels.
[X]In principle, lessons are individual, but if you prefer group lessons, we will look into the possibilities.
[X]During my studies in London with William Bennett, the emphasis was mainly on playing beautiful musical phrases with an open and expressive sound. I now want to pass on this knowledge to my own students. We do this by playing targeted and effective sound exercises in which the body is free of unnecessary tension.
I am convinced that it is very important to create a relaxed setting in which the student feels free to get started with these techniques. In addition, I think it is important that the student plays music that he or she enjoys, and we consult with each other to create a lesson programme that matches the student’s wishes. I hope to teach the student a good foundation so that they will enjoy making music throughout their lives.
