Double bass lessons in Hengelo
Are you looking for a double bass teacher in Hengelo? Then you’ve come to the right place! I am a qualified double bass player and bass teacher with over 25 years of experience and I give double bass and bass guitar lessons (see separate listing on this website) in Hengelo to children, young people and adults. I work freelance and also for music schools, amateur orchestras and youth orchestras, among others. In the lessons, we work step by step on technique, musicality and enjoyment of playing, tailored entirely to your level and goals. I can also prepare you for admission to a professional music programme.
I am a freelance double bassist and bass guitarist, working throughout the Netherlands with orchestras, ensembles and bands. I am classically trained, so you will mainly find me playing in classical orchestras and ensembles and brass bands. I also play jazz and world music, both on double bass and bass guitar. Musical theatre and pop music are also regular features of my repertoire.
[X]The lessons take place in Hengelo. Arrangements for other lesson locations can be made under certain conditions.
[X]A lesson usually lasts one hour. For young children in primary education, half an hour is the recommended lesson time. For children/young people (school pupils), a weekly lesson schedule is most appropriate. For adults with busy schedules, individual appointments offer more flexibility.
[X]Lesson times are negotiable. For weekly lessons, I have fixed days and times. These will always be in the afternoon or evening.
[X]I teach all ages and all levels. If you take lessons at my private practice, you must have your own instrument. I can assist and advise you on renting/borrowing or purchasing an instrument. If the lessons are organised through a music school or association that provides instruments, we can make arrangements accordingly.

[X]During the double bass lessons, we focus on the following topics, among others:
- good playing posture and technique
- playing with the bow (arco) and plucking (pizzicato)
- reading music and music theory
- rhythm, timing and ensemble playing
I teach all styles of music. The focus is on developing a solid technical foundation so that you can play the music you enjoy. The ultimate goal is usually ensemble playing, in an orchestra, ensemble or band. I can teach you everything you need to know to become a good and reliable rhythm section player and accompanist.
